Three Gables
Grassi collaborated with Aidlin Darling Design and Strandberg Engineering on this Napa Valley homestead, blending regional farm architecture and Welsh design with modern, fire-resistant materials, such as concrete and steel, for the three-gabled structures, while ensuring seismic safety to California standards. A wildfire destroyed the original house mid-construction, and the family decided to rebuild a more resilient compound. Now they enjoy the panoramic vistas of the surrounding vineyards from the cluster of buildings. The architects carefully framed the site views, allowing the home to blend seamlessly with the landscape.
