Grassi Expansion: New Office in Park City, Utah!

Park City, Utah, Photographer: Peteys Head

Grassi recently expanded from the Golden State to the former Silver Rush town, Park City, Utah. From our satellite office, we will serve the Mountain West with the same attention to detail, crafting the caliber of private residences and public spaces for which we are known in Napa, Sonoma, and Santa Barbara. We join other Bay Area firms, including Feldman Architecture. Founding Partner Jonathan Feldman feels that the mountain resort communities in Utah resonate with their work: “We believe our site-sensitive approach, refined aesthetics, and commitment to regenerative design and land stewardship bring a fresh and thoughtful voice to the evolving conversation in these areas.”

Grassi Bay Area collaborators Walker Warner and Backen & Backen are also making the sojourn to Park City, and we look forward to working with them and developing new relationships with the local design community. One of these firms is Payne/Cole Design, with its main office in Whitefish, Montana, and a regional location in Park City. The multi-faceted architecture and design firm integrates architecture, engineering, interior design, and high-end 3D rendering and visualization in-house. Just like Grassi, they specialize in the luxury residential segment: large custom homes with unique ski-in/ski-out residences, and resort-style settings.

Designer: Anne-Marie Barton, Photographer: Scott Zimmerman

Utah-based Interior designer Anne-Marie Barton’s philosophy is “Traditional roots, modern expression … mixing crafted modern design with organic naturalism,” which seques nicely with the Grassi ethos. Barton notes, “During initial meetings, I’ll have a table stocked with different kinds of materials—stones, metals, and woods—and I’ll watch what people avoid and take note of the things they keep picking up.” Park City is also home to BERG Design, an architecture/design studio whose design aesthetic is “Organic Modern Elegance”. They focus on “bespoke” and “craft … at every scale” — custom architecture rather than cookie-cutter.
